INDIAN UNIVERSITIES. INFORMATION
(Information of Indian Universities)
All the Indian states have Higher Education Institutions and research based Institutions like Universities, Colleges and other specialised Institutions. There are four types of Universities in India -
- >Central Universities
- >State Universities
- >Private Universities
- >Deemed Universities
■Central Universities have been established by an Act of Parliament, the Central Universities Act .There are more then 45 Central Universities in India.
■State Universities have been established by required legislation passed by a state government. It is established by the respective state government according to location/ state of the University. There are more then 250 State Universities in India.
■Private Universities have been established by the respective State Legislature under “ Act”.It is under the Sections 2(f) and 22(1) of the UGC Act, 1956. There are more then 250 Private Universities in India.
■Deemed Universities have been established under Section 3 of the UGC Act of 1956. It is declared by Central Government and recommended by the UGC. There are more then 130 Deemed Universities in India.
Beside above Universities the Higher Education System of India has also some specialed institutions including NITs, IITs, IIITs, AIIMs etc. for better education and research.
